Matt Brown.jpgMatt joined the NHS in 2002 as an analyst and has since worked in a variety of roles which includes jobs within primary care, commissioning, locality development and strategic planning working for a number of regional Foundation Trusts in both operations and strategy. Before becoming Managing Director of the NENC Provider Collaborative in January 2022 Matt was Executive Director of Operations at South Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group where he led service change programmes and alliance agenda.

As Managing Director Matt supports each of our 11 Foundation Trusts and acts as an ‘honest broker’ to ensure we collaborate to provide the best possible care for our patients in the region and work through challenges that arise. In doing so, Matt is responsible for leading the foundation and development of the Provider Collaborative including governance, working infrastructure, resourcing. Leading the management team, Matt helps with the development and delivery of our complex programmes of work including clinical, clinical support, corporate and development workstreams. 

Having worked in the North East and North Cumbria for the majority of his career, Matt joined the Provider Collaborative as he believes there is great potential to do something really special for patients and staff in the region through harnessing the collective energy of our Foundation Trusts.
