2024/25 has been a year of impact, innovation and collaboration - and we’re excited to show you what we’ve achieved together.
This annual report gives an overview of the North East and North Cumbria Provider Collaborative (NENC Providers) and the work we do together to support over 3.2 million people in our region.
This year, we’ve made real progress. Thanks to strong collaboration across all FTs, people who live in our region get quicker access to their planned NHS care than anywhere else in the country. Our referral to treatment times have consistently been amongst the best in England.
We’ve opened the first of three new Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) for our region at Metrocentre, Gateshead, with plans motoring at speed for two further CDCs to open in 2025/26. Building work on our innovative new Medicines Manufacturing Centre has also gathered pace during the year and remains on track to open in 2026 subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.
We’ve also made great strides this year to shape a long-term plan for hospital care across the region through our ‘Strategic Approach to Clinical Services’ Board.
