In the year ahead, our aim is to build on our work so far and keep a firm focus on improving care.
We will turn plans into action. Our Strategic Approach to Clinical Services (SACS) will guide our work. This means making real changes to improve how services work and make them stronger. We will also support colleagues to share skills, create more shared clinical teams and ways of working.
More joined-up care
We want care to feel simple and connected for patients. To do this, we will:
- expand single points of access.
- use shared referral routes.
- provide more care closer to home where it is safe.
- improve how patients move through services.
This will help patients get the right care first time, wherever they live.
Better access and shorter waits
We will keep working to reduce waiting times and improve access. We will:
- grow surgical hubs and shared services.
- roll out shared Patient Tracking Lists.
- increase tests and scans through our CDCs.
- improve how we use digital tools.
This will help more patients get care sooner.
Strong foundations
We will keep building strong foundations to support this work. We will:
- make sure we support staff wellbeing.
- think about how we create more shared workforce solutions.
- expand how we use in digital and data to improve care.
- make sure we use our facilities and buildings in the best way.
Projects and innovation
We will move forward on key projects. We will:
- get ready to open the new Medicines Manufacturing Centre.
- grow our medicines value work in other areas of care.
- expand our procurement work to get even better value for money.
- test new ways to provide patient transport services.
Working as one system
We know there are challenges ahead. Demand is rising, and services are under pressure. We must make sure we use our resources wisely and stay financially strong for the future. Our work so far shows what we can achieve when we come together. Partnership working will stay at the heart of what we do and as we work towards our goals and the ambitions of the NHS 10 Year Plan.
