Procurement services across our FTs have made great steps this year to work together. These are the services that support how the NHS buys things like medicines, equipment and food.
Our teams have worked together with a shared goal to increase efficiency and save money.
Standardising products and supplies
A key focus has been making sure we use the same clinical products and supplies across our FTs where we can. This helps to improve the consistency in patient care and things simpler for staff.
Delivering financial value
This work has saved over £3 million during the year. This shows the value of working together at scale to get better value for the NHS.
National recognition
The work across our FTs won an award for the way teams worked together to collaborate. The regional award was for Project of the Year. This was from the NHS Skills Development Network.
This has helped teams make decisions together, avoid doing the same work twice, and buy things in a more consistent way. This means we can get the best value from how we invest NHS money across the region. It also leads to better experiences for patients and staff.
