Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) provides mental health, learning disability, autism and neurorehabilitation services across North Cumbria and the North East of England.
The Trust supports people in North Cumbria, Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland. It also provides a number of specialist services for people from across the country.
Care is provided in hospitals, community settings and people’s homes. Main sites include St Nicholas Hospital in Newcastle, Hopewood Park and Monkwearmouth Hospital in Sunderland, Northgate Hospital and St George’s Park in Morpeth, Ferndene in Prudhoe, Walkergate Park in Newcastle, and the Carleton Clinic in Carlisle.
CNTW works with local councils, NHS organisations and other partners to provide joined-up care. This helps people get the support they need closer to home and at the right time.
Services are organised into three care groups: Community Care, Inpatient Care and Specialist Care. This helps the Trust provide consistent care and support across all its services.
CNTW is one of the largest mental health and disability trusts in England. It has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) on three occasions, recognising the high quality of care provided by its teams.
The Trust is committed to helping people improve their health, wellbeing and independence. By working closely with patients, carers and families, CNTW aims to provide safe, compassionate and high-quality care for the communities it serves.
