South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital and community health services for more than 1.5 million people across Teesside, North Yorkshire and beyond. It is one of the largest NHS trusts in the region and employs more than 10,000 staff.

The Trust provides care from The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, three primary care hospitals and a range of community services. These services help people get the care they need, as close to home as possible.

The James Cook University Hospital provides more than 37 specialties on one site. Many of these are specialist services that support patients from across the North East and North Yorkshire. They include cancer care, heart and lung services, neurosciences, spinal care, vascular surgery, urology and cochlear implant services.

The Trust is also home to a Major Trauma Centre, which treats people with serious injuries from across the region. It is one of only a few NHS trusts in the UK to use three robotic surgical systems to support patient care.

South Tees has a strong record in research, innovation and medical training. It works with partners to develop new treatments and improve care for patients now and in the future.

As a clinically led organisation, the Trust puts safety and quality at the centre of everything it does. It works closely with patients, communities and partner organisations to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
